the food network…
i miss the food network. i miss drooling over tyler florence (nice teeth, nice face, and he can cook! mmmm), drooling over nigella lawson (she’s just so stunning!), making fun of giada’s giant head and even bigger mouth, avoiding emeril, bobby flay being a likable tool, alton brown giving me super food knowledge, watching rachael ray go from the girl next door to the girl i’m tired of seeing everywhere but am glad she finally is wearing clothes that flatter her figure, and paula deen telling me “it needs more butter, ya’ll!” and seeing her husband michael who looks like he fell off a fishing boat.
i miss it.
i miss the specials. the iron chef’s. alton’s “Feasting on Asphalt” specials. behind the chef biographies.
before when we had cable, that was the channel i’d leave on at all times. i could ALWAYS stand to watch something about food. and with the exception of emeril, i watched/listened to everything that came on. i would write down and try new recipes on a daily basis. even if it was just adding seasoning.
ahh well…
i’ll just grill up some salmon marinated in a sweet teriyaki sauce, serve it over a bed of steamed vegetables, and cry a little while i eat it. *sniff…sniff…*

The food network is my very favorite network!
That sucks!! I am sorry you dont have you Food Network, I LOVE that show too… I will think of you next time I watch it…. you know you might be able to watch some of the episodes on foodnetwork.com
Awwww, Meghan…a girl after my own heart! We don’t have any cable service (by choice) either and that is the one channel hubby and I both pine for! We even wondered if we could only pay for food tv every month since that’s all we would pretty much watch. Oh how I love late night Iron Chef!
I don’t have a TV but we have cable. I know it doesn’t seem to make sense but there is a reason. We really didn’t want cable for a TV b/c we don’t watch TV. The only reason we have it is b/c it is cheaper to get cable for the computers and TV rather than for just the computers. Isn’t that silly? We don’t watch TV b/c neither of us really have the same time every day or every week to watch it. What I do is rent shows I like. I love CSI so I started renting it from Blockbuster. It comes in the mail and I have unlimited time to watch it.
