Happy 2 years!

My favorite thing about this time of year is the first big snow. Sure people forget how to drive in it but everything looks so nice on that first morning. I just love how snow blankets everything and how the noises are all muffled. A snow covered forest can be so calming.

Happy Podiversary!!! Heres to another 2 years!!!!!

My favorite thing about this time of the years is the ANTICIPATION! Anticiaption of all the goodies, the family time together, giving gifts, and just relaxing after the big day.

Happy New Year to all!

I not only love this time of year but the fall that leads into all this excitement and cold air and bright colored lights and sleigh bells and balsam fir tree aroma and mulled cider and, of course, presents. I guess the fellowship and kindness shown during the month of December makes this time of year especially wonderful. I love it all. Looking at all my old Christmas ornaments that I've collected over the years from many places I've travelled to and pulling out old favorite recipes and trying new ones as well. It truly is the most wonderful time of the year.

My faaaavorite thing about this time of year is having some real family time. Not the running from parent's houses to inlaws and back again. We gave up on that 2 years ago when I had my daughter. Now DH takes 2 weeks off around the holidays and we just hang out together with babycakes. No plans, no shuttling back and forth, just hanging out together. I love it!!

My favorite thing to do this time of year...bringing out a Christmas puzzle...everyone who comes by during the holiday adds a piece or two, or many. My daughter and I spend hours working on it while visiting with each other and sipping tea.

Happy Anniversary and Birthday!

Thanks and Congrats on your 2 year podaversary Meghan!
I have been there for all of them and since I'm unemployed now I'm not as on time as I used to be, but I try to always make time for my favorites :)
So when I was a little girl in Ohio, my parents always had a Huge adult Christmas party every year in OUR creatively decorated basement...haha.., and when that night came I was always so excited even though I was promptly put to bed when guests arrived....and ya know why????
Because we had floor registers...and I laid on the floor all evening and listened and peeked through the cracks of the heating pipes...to all the people laughing and talking about their exchange presents which were also usually funny but adult presents....I really thought I was something even though it took me years to figure out why the little frogs were called girl & boy :)
Happy Holidays everybody!

My favorite thing this time of year is to think about the changes in our lives and look forward to the new adventures that my kids and I will have. As my kids get older I see the need for traditions to change and that we keep some of the old ones and make new ones too. This year due to my job and having to be at work at 6am on Christmas we waited until after I got off work to open gifts and begin Christmas. I know it was hard for my girls to wait but I am glad they were able to wait patiently and without whining.

My favorite thing during the holiday season is baking and listen to Christmas music with my mom! Every year as long as I can remember, usually starting the day after Thanksgiving, my mom and I start baking! We make cookies, candies, breads and snack mixes! My favorite thing to make is Cranberry Orange Apricot bread, because it is also my favorite thing to eat! I never feel like the holidays are here until we start cooking and rocking out to Christmas music!

My favorite thing about Christmas is a tradition started for my great-niece when she was just a little thing.....(now 14).

A few nights before Christmas my husband and I load up the car with blankets, thermos of hot chocolate and tune the radio to a station playing Christmas carols.

Once Princess Cupcake and I are safely tucked in the back seat, my husband will roll down all the windows and play the roll of "chauffeur", taking instructions from Princess Cupcake as to which houses we stop and look at and how long, all while we are singing carols at the top of our lungs!! I think the fact that she was allowed to call all the shots was part of the appeal when she was younger.

My husband and I have no children of our own, so this is a precious tradition for us....time goes by so very, very fast.
