I wanted to share a picture of my recent lace project. I am so happy with how it turned out. I took a vintage doily patterned and resized it as a shawl using Malabrigo lace weight. My sister was very happy with her birthday present.

Used to LOVE these when i was in Canada years ago, but Rootbeer just doesn’t taste the same in UK. Why is that?

How funny that you mention hooping in this episode. I’ve wanted to start hooping ever since I ran across Gleeks post on her blog a few months ago. I bought a cheapo hoop but it just didn’t do the job. And, I’ve been hesitant to buy one of the more expensive hoops from Hoopnotica (hey, I saw their van driving on my way to work this morning!). I even considered making one myself but never got to it. But, now after listening to this episode I’m newly inspired to make one. Wish me luck!
