    the food network…

    Published by Meghan under Babble,cooking

i miss the food network. i miss drooling over tyler florence (nice teeth, nice face, and he can cook! mmmm), drooling over nigella lawson (she’s just so stunning!), making fun of giada’s giant head and even bigger mouth, avoiding emeril, bobby flay being a likable tool, alton brown giving me super food knowledge, watching rachael ray go from the girl next door to the girl i’m tired of seeing everywhere but am glad she finally is wearing clothes that flatter her figure, and paula deen telling me “it needs more butter, ya’ll!” and seeing her husband michael who looks like he fell off a fishing boat.

    i miss it.

i miss the specials. the iron chef’s. alton’s “Feasting on Asphalt” specials. behind the chef biographies.

before when we had cable, that was the channel i’d leave on at all times. i could ALWAYS stand to watch something about food. and with the exception of emeril, i watched/listened to everything that came on.  i would write down and try new recipes on a daily basis. even if it was just adding seasoning.

    ahh well…

i’ll just grill up some salmon marinated in a sweet teriyaki sauce, serve it over a bed of steamed  vegetables, and cry a little while i eat it. *sniff…sniff…*

For this swap you will knit/crochet/felt/sew a little critter of your swap partner’s liking, pack said little critter away in a box containing $5-$10 of goodies (ziplocked, so as to protect the little critter from melting hot chocolate lava), and mail said box off to the aforementioned swap partner by July 9th.

    PHEW!!!!

    Published by Meghan under Babble,Spinning

i’m home. i’m pooped. and i’m so proud of myself!

the craftsale was a total step out of my element, into a crowd of people, putting myself out there, meeting new people, and trying something new. it was a lot of fun. i met some great people, saw lots of crafty things, saw TONS of adorable babies (coooo!!!!!), and got to teach a lot of adults and children about the process of spinning yarn. for us, it was a LOT of teaching the entire day. my throat is kinda sore from all the talking!

i didn’t make enough for my drumcarder yet, but i definitely put a dent in that puppy, which is fabulous! and we’ve already started talking about the NEXT show we will do! imagine that?! hahaha

overall it was a great experience! :) mission complete!!!

    I’ve been tagged!

    Published by Meghan under Babble

Jill tagged me with a Meme, so i thought i would pass it on! (what does Meme mean, anyway?!)

    So here’s the deal:
    The Rules:
Rules are posted at the beginning. At the end of the post, the player then tags 6 people and posts their names. Then the player goes to the “named” people’s blogs and leaves a comment, letting them know they’ve been tagged and asking them to read your blog. If you’ve been tagged, you do the same, letting the person who tagged you know when you’ve posted your answer. Your answer of course, is the answer to the following questions. Here we go!

    1. What was I doing 10 years ago?

10 years ago i would have been working full time at a chiropractic health plan office, taking classes at my local community college, and getting ready to move down to u of i in the fall for my first year of college. i was dating ryan, hanging out with all of my friends who were home for the summer, and organizing lots of gatherings with them (i was the planner in the group). we spent a lot of our summers going to see punk shows downtown at the Fireside Bowl on the weekends. it was good clean fun!

    2. What are 5 things on my to-do list today?

    -Clean (ha!)

    -Cook dinner (doing it!)

-Snuggle with the little man before he goes to bed

-Help ry make tags for my craft show tomorrow

-Get all of my goodies ready for said show

    3. Snacks I enjoy:

lately? it’s been peanut butter cookies (stupid stress) or rainbow serbert (summer in a cup)

    4. Places I’ve lived:

    Kankakee, IL

    Glen Ellyn, IL

    Chicago, IL

    Urbana, IL

    Lisle, IL

    Orange, CA (for 5 weeks)

and the far west suburbs of chicago (ain’t i ambiguous?!)

    5. Things I would do if I were a billionaire:

buy a house in the country with some more acreage so i could have chickens, sheep, loads of plants and whatnot with housing so i could host fiber retreats (awesome!), take care of my family member’s mortgages, set aside money for little man and nieces/nephew’s college, probably donate funds to families in need of hearing aids or hearing assistance somehow, pay back the vets who saved bob, and i’m sure i’d donate lots and lots of money to organizations in the area after i learned more about their programs and whatnot. oh, and get a behind the scenes tour of Pixar!!  oh, and finally take those tap dance lessons i always talked about taking.

Next, i tag people i want to learn more about:

i pick Erin, Casey, and Amanda.

    Who am i?

    Published by Meghan under Babble

    You Are An ENFJ

    The Giver

You strive to maintain harmony in relationships, and usually succeed.
Articulate and enthusiastic, you are good at making personal connections.
Sometimes you idealize relationships too much – and end up being let down.
You find the most energy and comfort in social situations … where you shine.

In love, you are very protective and supporting.
However, you do need to “feel special” – and it’s quite easy for you to get jealous.

At work, you are a natural leader. You can help people discover their greatest potential.
You would make a good writer, human resources director, or psychologist.

How you see yourself: Trusting, idealistic, and expressive

When other people don’t get you, they see you as: Bossy, inappropriate, and loud

    What’s Your Personality Type?

well, aside from the bossy and inappropriate thing, i think they nailed it on the head. i do get loud, but not bossy…i can usually steer the ship without taking hold of the wheel myself, i just put things out there in a way that makes sense and people want to do it. hahahahaha
